played for, managed or coached Chichester City FC, Portfield FC or
indeed Chichester City United FC (first team or reserve teams).

and also include a picture of yourself if you have one. Trevor
Wallis has all the players stats for Chichester City FC from the
1960s onwards so we can add these for you. We might even be able to
set up a few old boy matches if we get enough interest.

Best Manager: Bill
Cronin
Best Player: Tom Pegler
Fondest Memory: Social side of the club
Profile: Motty previously had trials with Southampton and
Bournemouth before joining Horsham YMCA Youth. He joined
Chichester City in 1991 and dazzled the crowds for 10 years with his scintillating pace down the left and
right flanks. His playing career was sadly cut short when he
shattered his right tibia and fibia during an FA Cup match at
Hastings Town (15/09/01) - the crowd had a half-time whip round
and raised £600 for Shane and a club benefit evening raised a
further £600. He has recovered well from his appalling injury and still
keeps extremely active, running in marathons and playing
the occasional football match for the Sussex Fire Brigade. |

White
Best Player: Greg Brown
Fondest Memory: Meeting some great characters and the
success of 1990/91
Profile: Left
back/Left midfielder with skilful technique, crossing and
passing ability from open play or dead ball situations. Good on
the ball with attacking instinct, rarely lost possession and
could create space at will to weigh in with numerous assists
from wide positions. Had an eye for the odd spectacular goal,
and was one of the first players along with Martin Smith in
1988/89 to break into the first team having played at all levels
of junior football for CCFC from U10's upwards. Danny played a
crucial part in CCFC's promotion season in the early 90's back
into the 1st Division, and picked up the Young Player of Season
Award in 1990/91 as well as winning the Division 2 Cup in the
same year. Left CCFC to move to University, still playing in

Profile:
My best
description would be tough tackling, fast and reliable left
sided player. Going forward down the flanks was one of my best
attributes and an excellent free-kick specialist.
During my late 20’s, I played for
East Dean, Bracklesham Bay & Wittering Utd where I finished my
career due to family commitments. Now works in Chichester and
still watches local football. |
