03/03/2001 - City United Res 2 Hassocks Res (Reserve Cup)

City United Reserves have reached the quarter finals of the Reserve Section Cup after a superb 2-1 at home to Hassocks Reserves who play in the Reserve Section Premier League.

City United were the better side in the first half and goals from Lloyd (his third in three games) and Barry, gave the home side a 2-0 half time lead.

However Hassocks were a different proposition in the second half after pulling a goal back but City United held out for a quarter final place.

In the same round Sidlesham beat Eastern Section Leaders Peacehaven by the odd goal which could set up a local derby if they draw City United in the next round.

In the league Selsey won at Arundel 3-0 to move second, Oving thrashed Steyning 5-0, Shoreham drew 1-1 at home to Wick, Oakwood beat Southwick away 2-1 and Storrington tore St Francis apart 11-0.
