CITY KNOCKED OUT OF SUSSEX SENIOR CUP

Adrian Brockway Challenges for the
ball
Chichester were knocked out of
their fourth cup competition this season when Wick beat them 2-0
at Crabtree Park on Tuesday evening in the second round of the
Sussex Senior Cup.
Adam Burton gave the home side the
lead after 16 minutes when his shot from 20 yards some how
managed to evade Miah standing next to the post. Chichester
fought back strongly before half-time with Scott Tipper and
Scott Murfin both coming close.
Chichester continued to press hard
during the second half with Tipper coming very close when he met
a cross from Hickman but his header just missed the target.
Further efforts from Neil Murfin, Tipper and Brockway all went
agonisingly close.
Against the run of play, Wick put
the game beyond all doubt on 83 minutes when a Marc Cooper shot
from 20 yards out took a wicked deflection of Dan Turner and
sailed into the top corner.
Scott Murfin came close to scoring
a consolation in the dying minutes but his shot was well save by
Davey in the Wick goal, who was just about the best player on
the park.
