PRE-SEASON GAMES PRODUCE MIXED BAG OF RESULTS
Chichester City United play their final pre-season friendly
against Ryman League Worthing on Tuesday evening at
Oaklands Park
(Kick off 7:30).
On July 31st, City travelled to
Dorset to take on Christchurch for the annual Steve Bernard
Memorial match. The Wessex league opposition triumphed 4-0
although the game was closer than the core indicates.
The pre-season games so far have produced a mixed bag of
results as manager Adie Girdler explained ‘I’m rebuilding the
team and I’ve looked at a lot of players. We had a big win
against Cove and close games with Midhurst and Loxwood, but the
defence was poor against Camberley. I’ve learned a lot from
these games and I’ve signed some good players to slot in
alongside the likes of Russ Hardwell and Darren Hickman.
The new lads include James Temple who scored goals for
Brading
Town in the Wessex League last season, Lee Bedden from Hayling
United and Billy Huntley from Moneyfield who were also in the
Wessex
last season.’
The Sussex County League fixture list sees City kick off
with a home game against St Francis Rangers on Saturday 9th
August.
