CHICHESTER TO VISIT CRAWLEY DOWN IN FA CUP
Chichester City United have been drawn away to Crawley Down in
the extra preliminary round of the e.on sponsored FA Cup with
the tie due to be played on Saturday August 16th (KO 3pm). The
teams last met in January 2007 when Chichester came away from
the Haven Sportsfield with a 2-0 victory in the RUR Cup
quarter-final courtesy of goals from Paul Jones and Michael
Turvey. Chichester missed the FA Cup last year due to an
administration error and they will be hoping that they can get
further than the first qualifying round for the first time in
their history. The full FA Cup draw can be viewed
here.
In the FA Vase first qualifying round, Chichester have been
drawn at home to second division Seaford Town with the tie due
to be played on Saturday September 20th (KO 3pm). The teams last
met in October 2004 in the second round of the RUR Cup with
Chichester running out 4-2 winners thanks to goals from Paul
Thomas (2), Scott Tipper and the legendary Roger Moore. The full
FA Vase draw can be viewed
here.
In the John O'Hara League Challenge Cup second round, Chichester
will host the winner of the Loxwood v Selsey first round tie and
in the Reserve Section League Challenge Cup second round,
Chichester travel to Wealden with the winners facing Sidlesham,
Redhill or St Francis Rangers in the third round.
